Sponsor advice (write-off)

Post by CMS-GT4 »

I am trying to gather details for writing off sponsorship of an autoxer.
Does anyone have any info or links to details of how a business can write off sponsorship?
I am trying to determine if it can only be written-off as advertising or something else.

thanks,
JC

I deducted the cost of the Blue Ridge Hillclimb last year. Pretty much everything. Entry fee, travel, lodging, and ENTERTAINMENT. :D I took pictures of the signage on the car and kept receipts just in case. Look at the deduction categories in one of those accounting spread sheets. You can get lots of ideas. You can get them at office supply stores.

Thanks. I am negotiating a promotion at work, and trying to get sponsorship as part of the package.
