I voted yes to the three runs counting. I realy hope that it does not cause too much work for T & S, but there are somethings that I must take to task.
1. Dave please let us know how much time it takes to do this because it looks like to me that everyone wants to know.
2. People that don't understand the three run format don't understand the pax system. They see the times and then see something else on the board or in the results. If people ask then I think they will come to understand. These people like to watch the pro class run to see what line they might want to run. I think we all agree that its fun to watch a good driver make a run to see where he or she would be faster or just to see the ragged edge.
3. Why would someone run the pro class and want more than three runs to count? I think I would ask myself if I should be running the pro class to start with. The pro class is special in many ways like trying to be the best of the best, and to win in our region you have to be real good. I would like to see more people run the pro class. Do people want to win cutting boards or do they want to be the best they can be?
4. If you go to a Divisional, National Tour or Nationals you have to get it done in three runs and that is the kind of pressure that we are trying to create on a local bases.
5. Its fun to be pushed to get it done in three runs. If this was not true then you would not have as many people saying that this is what they want now would you.
Thats my five reasons to keep the format as long as the first one is not too much trouble. We could have the people that take it serious hit the first cone at the timing light after the first three runs are complete? I am not advicating this but I am serious about it not causing a problem with T & S.
