I'm not a good enough driver for an RX8. :( I'm also not sure they'd be that fun locally. They also don't get very good gas mileage. I test drove one though and really liked it. I think they are good looking cars too.

E36 is too old/too many headaches (also still gotta dump the red car) and the M3 is DONE in STU. Two of them at nats and I know that one has already started the parting out process.

not that it is the same engine, but my fiirst sports car was an 82 RX-7 back in 89...I loved that car, but of course I was 20 at the time with a "sports" car, and damn happy to have it.....wrecked it a few times too

Rotary engines themselves are not bad imo...yes, different of course, gas milage not great, uses a bit of oil  ....but they are pretty reliable these days.

If it were me, that is what I would buy as I routinely go through the exercise of "what if" on car buying...whether it was to good of a car for my newbie driving skills is no matter to me (obviously), but ever decent driver had to start as a newbie at some point, hope i'll get there one day

...a nice used S2000 would be right up there next, just i'm not a convertible guy myself (no offense anyone)

well YES, if I had $35K to buy a car, that would DEFINITELY be right at the top...300 hp, 300 ft/lbs, 3200lbs, BMW suspension

You could wait for this new CRX 2.0 liter or the new Sirrocco.

Yes! 3000 lb 2 seater economy car designed by Hot Wheels FTW!

If I had $35k, I'd have an ESP car and something else to putt around it....

Ugh, that thing is an insult to CRX owners everywhere. Given the choice between that and a Subaru, I'd be 4-wheel sliding.
