You got good service about it? I talked to some Indian person who told me I'd have to pay $100, mail it to them, and be out for 6 weeks. So... I took it apart and fixed it myself.

I knew you were teasing. This isn't /v/. Although it is funny that the majority of Xbox owners will tell you their RRoD stories when you bring it up. Since almost every Xbox owner has experienced it...

I just had my second RROD. First one was free, second one was $100 (out or warranty). I'm not real happy about it since the 360 is a damn Edsel, but it was still cheaper than buying a PS3.

I've had to mail mine off twice. The first RROD came just out of the initial warranty period, I bitched and moaned, but paid the $120 or whatever at the time. Then they extended it to 1yr shortly thereafter. Shortly after that, I got a freakin' check in the mail for $120, and haggled them into a 1/2 price 2yr extended warranty, which I am still under because the 1yr reset after the graphics card bonked and I had to send it in again (this was separate from the RROD).

If I get it again out of warranty, I may come talk to you about that DIY though :).

Think of it this way:

Michael Jackson: may have molested some kids, but he made Thriller man.....Thriller

XBOX 360: may have some reliability issues, but you can play Halo 3......Halo 3

I'm just going to be pissed if my Xbox isn't back in time to play ODST next week.

Just bought the game and It's awesome! Soo realistic. I very happy that the racing is so good. Menus and points and all that are kinda arcade-ish, but the racing is great. Its a real race car game.

Jealous...

I may have to give Shift a rent or find a demo somewhere to play, just to see if I might be entertained.

i still think all the console based 'sims' retard the physics and controls to make it playable without a wheel. if you guys would give Race 07/GTR Evolution on PC a shot with a 70 dollar wheel you would all be hooked. then you'll slowly work your way towards iRacing for cleaner racing just like I did  its process.

cheap-o logitec momo  i'm about ready to move up, at first i didnt mind it but the force feedback is kind of crappy and if you get the car crossed up and youre sawing on the wheel it feels like it skips teeth and the wheel is all of the sudden kind of cockeyed  even the momo & Race/iRacing is a bagillion times better than a controller and forza 2 though. imo anyhow.
