Old ETR Photos

Post by disneyd »

Karl Rickert e-mailed these to me a couple of events ago (yes, I am a slacker). I managed to remember to post them while I was actually sitting in front of a computer.

I'll resize them later, when I've got time

I remember Karl's dad driving that Volvo. He was quite a character and quite interesting to listen to. I remember him fondly.

Chillhowee Park(the lot on the south side of Magnolia) The pavement was cut up several years ago and the cuts were covered by iron plate. No more racing for ETR.

That's me in my father's Volvo! It was a B-Sedan car that I put back on the street. Young and dumb I sold the car and last place I saw it was a junkyard in Oliver Springs or Oak Ridge (Bill Feat's place I think).

I've got bunches more photos of autocrossing at Oak Ridge High School, Bradley Square Mall in Cleveland, TN.

Anyone have a pic of the Z-car that ramped over a dirt berm at Severville Airport?

How about "The Thing"?? I used to draw pictures of that creation as a kid.

BTW.....Dewey, what were you driving back then?

I drove a Fiat 128 and a two or three different Saab 93s, 96s, and Sonetts. Did more than one car jump the berm at Sevierville Airport? I remember Curtis Metz's Spitfire jumping it. No photos though.
