I do like the straight pipe idea better. If there isn't a problem with the noise from the turn down then I will do it. I would rather have something that I won't be changing.
And Steve, CSP is the sound I am looking for.

Pilson, I have a feeling we should be using the turn down. Too bad we can't do some testing before next event.
The perceived psychoacoustical loudness should double with every 10dB increase
that said; you would probably have to kit the tail pipe off and back up to the meter to get passed 96dB.... or drive a Corvair with no exhaust.

Re: Event #1 Sound Issues
Hello,
Having competed in ETR auto-x events since 2005, until this thread started, I wasn't aware ETR utilized sound regulations including the possibility of disqualification. Though unlikely that my STS Miata would exceed the maximum 96 dba limit, other competitors could. Hence, perhaps it would be helpful to include the Club's sound rules in the Registration portion of the web-site's Solo section. Such an action might avoid an "unpleasant surprise" for a future competitor(s).

Wow I was the second loudest in the group? Does anyone know what the sound ratings were for all 4 runs? I left it in first gear on the last run past the meter...
