A New GoProHD

Post by SilverMaxima »

So GoPro has remade their HD camera. Now it comes with a mic input! And they're working on an attachment that'll let you control/view it through wi-fi. Other notable features include a sharper lens and easier-to-use LCD. Although, the release date for the wifi accessory says "available Winter 2012." That's a bit in the future. :?

Glad to see they're still working on progressing an already awesome product. Sounds like they are headed the right direction with the improvements.

Where'd you get yours from...? I noticed today that Amazon has them for $220 shipped (not this newer version, though).

Yeah, audio-in is key IMO. With that, I'll probably have to pick one up.

I hate that they charge you sales tax, when buying from them direct, even though they're in California :?

If I were buying a new camera today I'd still go for the Contour. It has the remote streaming and GPS and is in a much better package if you ask me.

I've read about the ContourGPS some. I can't seem to find anything about how useful the GPS part of it is. Do you have one of these? Are you able to get any use from the GPS? Is the GPS accurate enough to compare lines and speeds from run to run?

I prefer that than the self-inflicted pain of the "usage tax"....that no one knows about or actually pays except me apparently, lol

Dual sport touring has the contour for sale locally. Francois was showing me how it worked on his bike. Kinda slick, but I don't think GPS is accurate enough for Autocross.it will show speed and I have heard of cops trying to impound them for speeding evidence.

John, go talk to Megan.

They have some pretty good comparisons and reviews. I can't decide on contour or gopro.

to use the GPS,you must use their host site. Not a deal breaker...but you cant just throw in the micro card and hit play on somebody elses lap top...
