Put a small t25 turbo on the 1.6L (Injectors, fuel pump, exhaust, ect... all supporting mods)
8lb flywheel and ceramic clutch.
Depowered my steering rack and welded the pinion shaft
Knocked out the seat mounting points and bolted the seat to new rails closer to the chassis, nonadjustable.
Moved battery towards center of car and down as far as I could, also cut out a good chunk of wiring in the process.
Still wanting to shim my differential before the season but need to make sure the engine is running right first. Has some stumble on tip-in. Timing map is also pretty aggressive so I may end up trying to blend some fuels to keep from knocking.
It will be STM. So long as you have some roll over protection in the car and are on 140tw tires or higher you are good to go. Make sure your battery is tied down securely as well. It's a fun class and we all are pretty competitive. Would be great to have more people come out.
We ran ES last year, but have completely gutted the car and am caging it. We are wanting to run some chump races later in the year. It will pretty much be full race. I was thinking I'd need to be XP, but not sure.
Thanks Mark, I appreciate that. When we get closer, I was planning on posting a full list of our mods and asking for done opinions. I was thinking XP for sure, but didn't know if there were other classes we could run.
With those tires you won't be very competitive in XP. In STM you could though. If you're gonna do nationals stuff then XP would be the way to go but, if you're just gonna stay local on street tires you should come play in STM with everyone. There are about 5-8 regulars with 10+ entries in STM every event.
