Strano doesn't like either the Rival S or the Falken. The Dunlops seem to have hardened up on me and the wheels they're on weigh too much, almost 60 lbs with tire. I'm pulling the trigger on a set of 275/35/18 RE71R's to go on my new (to me) 18x10.5 Enkei PF01's. That should bring the weight down to 50 lbs per corner, or maybe a little less.

They are good tires. I'd buy some if I knew my size. :)

I got a note from Sam Strano today. He's now driven the RE71Rs on a 2015 Mustang and recommends them highly.

seeing as BFG gives boatloads of stuff to the people who review there crap and give it good reviews... and the same people diss those who wont give them free crap... My vote is for Bridgestone. But then, pass me some free beer and I will tell ya how I really feel.

JB, did he have the 195's ? because TR still shows the 195/50/15 as being 140

I assume John is talking about Jeff Wong. He might have some connections that others don't. Also, we don't know how much of that is car and how much is tires.

The 275/35/18 RE71R Bridgestones on 10.5 inch rims on the Mustang feel much better than the Dunlops on 19x9.5 inch rims did. Steering response on the street feels instantaneous and precise. I hope I get some dry runs this weekend.

I'd forgotten about the current labor dispute with the longshoremen that has resulted in a large backlog of container ships to be unloaded on the West Coast. That goes a long way to explain the shortage of tires.
