For reference, which other classes have run that is not in the rule book so I can have some leverage with Brian when I email him on Monday.

Sorry for the triple post. I only hope that we can figure out something for STM for the Sunday portion that allows them a meaningful competition in some fashion, even if it is only amongst themselves, since those competitors have to pay the same entry as everyone else.

If they have to pick a national class they will miss out on points for local. You also can run STM Saturday and switch to something else on Sunday.

I'll be in CS for the match tour, just to be clear.

Stm will be scored for local points on Saturday and Sundays runs would be for the shootout. If seans car had roll over protection and JB's setup no one would stand a chance against that car. I would think Harmer would lean toward SM pax or there about, but I may have to talk to him and I can call him tonight while we have some core people to talk to him about this.

I'm in the give them meaningful competition camp. At a 1.0 PAX, it is a really expense local with more automotive eye candy.

We have complete authority to do anything we want to with STM at our regional events, under 1.1 (one.one, not eye.one). (We have to be safe, of course)

Including assign them a PAX, if we want to (or not).

Match Tour events (etc) run by the national office are a whole different matter about which I can't offer much guidance.

wouldn't the only reason (other than just wanting to run) for hoping to run on Sun would be for local points ... or are the points based only on Sat performance ?

if no sun points, then, yeah, I can understand where some of this is coming from ... the national folk may well have run into this already, and may have figured out a way around the "problem"

corresponding with them could well make all the BS we're seeing may well go away

This is the best solution I've heard so far. The .848 pax is a nice suggestion, but I don't see any of the local stm cars, save maybe Disney or Bradley's Lotus, having any kind of chance with that. I understand it can't be lower than that, and I don't think anyone in STM will mind.

A separate "unofficial" shootout could be fun.

I don't know if I'll make this event. Driving to Bristol two days in a row last year sucked. :)

We have already talked with the national office at nationals this past September and got the approval to allow stm to run at the match tour. We just need to get a approval from National office on a pax and go from there.

:lol2:

you should try driving to Z-Max and home on Sat, and then to PSCC on Sun ... 500 highway miles each day ... about the same $$ as getting a hotel room

and then keep in mind that it's 500 highway miles each and every event with ETR (same with CCR) ... 500 mi makes for a long day

Didn't see this.

RTA, RTR, RTF @ Nationals 2012.

STS in 2001?

Anyway, there were a LOT of supplemental classes throughout the years

Not sure what sts pax was in 01, but the pax for those supplemental classes in 2012 had to be basic stock class with the pax time of where you would have been in the national class that you would have run in if you hadn't run in the supplemental class, which could still run on hoosiers, it was the start of the street tire movement. Which is why I have said we can't give stm a pax, that will have to come from scca and if they see a car similar to seans car,my guess is they will get SM pax for the event which is better than what they get at our regions.

I have emailed Brian Harmer about STM getting a pax for our match tour at BMS and I am waiting on his answer, but we will be getting a index for STM and it will not be 1.0. I hope to have the number by the time we meet on Sunday for our solo committee meeting. Thanks JY
