Confirmed the pax/index for STM will be .884 for the match tour. This number was reached by the National office after asking questions of what all can stm do to the cars and with no rules basically and 200 tw tires and safety being met then the car will be allowed to run. The match tour event will also be a local, but the national office will be the final determining ruling official on all cars that run in this event and will also be the final decision on all cars that go thru tech.

Yep I ask for and was trying to get it down to sm but due to no interior and and the fact that etr has allowed a basically anything you want to do to the car as long as it is safe is why they went with xp.

But XP runs on R-comps, not 200TW tires. That should have put the PAX in the 0.86 range. They're always going to be conservative on something new.

We should ask then, to forget about PAX and let STM have it's own 8 car shootout on Sunday

Already have asked for stm to have their own shootout and was told that would depend on how many entries we have and time. So if we have a high number of entries that is what we want but would probably not allow for a shootout for stm on sunday.

That still won't take any thing away from our locals. This is just the best we could get for the match tour with stm not being a national class and the issue with a car that the scca is not real sure on yet. I do understand the national office being on the cautious side with a local class and no rules and on 140 tw, if you all can't see where all the national drivers would bitch about 140 tw when scca requires 200 tw and if someone with 140 tw did win, I would say that would be etr last national tour event. I worked very long and hard to make this happen and hope to continue with a etr run national event and we even had to wine and dine the staff to be allowed to even have stm at this event, so I do hope we get a good showing from our regulars in stm and maybe I can talk the national staff into awards for stm only besides the regular awards they give out. Hope that helps and not to mention all the work I put in on getting BMS to pave the rough side of the lot.

No one's criticizing the effort at all, just that the pax number is pretty stupid and the alternative (an STM shootout) would have almost no impact on the event day length for Sunday.

I can also certainly defend the position of "STM isn't a national class, so you shouldn't have an expectation to run at a national event" and make it time-only for the match tour or just put them in XP. That way, folks in STM that don't want to attend aren't giving away points.

I understand totally Chris, but counting this as a local points event was what the solo committee voted on and passed with no opposed votes. I am not saying a stm shootout of its own will not happen, we just have to wait and see what the total number of entries is as if we have a high number of entries it does push sunday deeper into the afternon before we are done, but I will continue to push for a stm shootout and depending on how many stm show up to run it may be 8 or 4 if we get a shootout for them.

Nope, definitely not. The push for STM to be a more "legitimate" class is appreciated. but....a .884 pax just isn't appealing to 99.9% of competitors. I imagine that'd be one or two runs, and then you're out? Meh, I'll stay home.

An unofficial shootout, however, would probably be worth the drive.

You'd never even make the shootout with an .884

Session 1 and 2 are on Saturday. Each consist of a traditional 3 run autocross. the best run from each session will be added together to determine class rankings (basically a mini Champ Tour). Session 3 Sunday is another three runs to determine the qualifiers for the Super and Club Shootouts. The top 8 on index per heat qualify for the Super and 9-16 on index per heat qualify for the Club Shootout. Everyone else is eligible for the drawing to be in the Bonus Shootout. Session 4 Sunday is the Shootouts.

Could we take our STM entries best finishes ??? (top 4) and give them a shootout at another points event down the road we supply a trophy to get the participation out and don't loose these people if all else fails?
