ahhh, that famous line from Cool Hand Luke: what we have here is failure to communicate. Guess that everyone has their own definition of good condition.
I will say that all NA 2nd gens(94-97) have that bar behind the seat back. It could have been loose or whatever. It can be removed but it does help to tighten up the body. Unfortnately it is almost impossible to retrofit into NA 1st gen without significant welding.

Oh No! Those ribs were for the 561 miles I drove. I'm gonna need some more Memphis Dry to find you a clean Miata. ...and a side of cinnamon apples. TScott said they got some Sticky Fingers down in SC. Let's look down there.

If I'd have read this earlier I would have stopped in Chatt and brought ribs....probably not a Miata though

The guy who just moved up from Arkansas (Jim?) has the same setup for basically the same $. It's in the classified on knoxnews.com.
