Re: kid wants to ride with
I am pretty sure there is a age cutoff. I think it's 12. I'm confident 6 is not anywhere near it. Sorry.

if there is a cutoff that's cool that's all im trying to figure out.
Re: kid wants to ride with
They recently changed the rule and there is a size requirement. 6 is probably still too small but if you need the size info, I can see if I can dig it up.

that would be great. hes a bigger kid right at 4 foot tall and about 50-60lbs. he rides great in the Miata just trying to find out if it will be ok.

D. A passenger is allowed provided he/she:
1. is no younger than twelve (12) years old or is at least 57” tall;
2. is in a vehicle which has passed safety (tech) inspection (Section 3.3.3);
3. is wearing a properly fitted seat belt and a properly fitted helmet;
4. has completed and signed the required participant waiver(s), including parents/guardians as appropriate (Section 4.13).

As a SSS, i'll answer as well in support of Scott's answer...
In short, NO.
It's wierd, because we COULD allow them to drive an FJC kart, but not as passenger.

It is more to do with size and the fact that smaller kids are are not well protected by the standard restraints without a child seat. And a child seat does not belong in a front seat.

along with the weight of a helmet and the forces a full sized car can make doesn't do well for the kids bone structure and nerve system
