SOLD

2000 Ford Ecursion Limited
7.3 L PSD
4WD
Black
315000 miles

Has all the tow stuff you'd want:
Brake controller
4 inch exhaust with tune (low and hi boost settings)
Rebuilt transmission
Airbags in the rear

Right now, I just wanted to get this up on the board to see if there is interest. This was Greg Amy's Excursion, if you know him. He towed a 24 ft enclosed with it. It's been great towing around to autocrosses with it. Never have had a problem, never let me down.

Why selling? As mentioned in the Mazda 3 thread, we're trying to get something that can serve as a good daily and tow.

It's not pretty, but it's badass, and mechanically sound. The biggest issue is the surface rust on the underside and the frame. I planned on putting some rust mort on there or something and then coating, but I haven't (see my rust thread in general forum)

I have all of Greg's records and some of my own. Recently, I just put $2300 into the truck, replacing axle seals on the front, the water pump, and the rear pinion. Also replaced the rear diff cover. Obviously at 315k, it's got some miles on it, but I'd hop in right now and drive it anywhere. It's been to Lincoln twice since I have had it, and several 400+ mile tows.

Here's Greg's pics from 2 years ago, and not much has changed. I updated the head unit to one with some bluetooth functions. Truck could use some tires soon.

Due to the recent maintenance, which would have had to be done regardless, my asking price is $8000 OBO.

Have you pulled with it yet? Those are about the same size as my Durango. Just wondering how that size SUV does.

Not yet. It's big and rated at 8500. I don't anticipate issues

Had a friend in Philly region who used an Armada to pull an aluminum toy hauler with 4 beds, kitchen, bath, etc, karts and his BMod car with no issues.

There's no doubt we'll miss the big fuel tank and mileage on the EX, but almost everything else probably fits our needs better, and gets two cars down to one since Mish can drive the Armada.

Now, if I can just find the pre wiring for the brake controller :fight:

Can't believe this hasn't sold at these prices! If miles are scaring off people, they have little or no idea how those 7.3L motors hold up. It's just now broken in! Good luck. Glad I haven't built my extended garage yet because I would have already bought it to go with mine. Pull all the things!

I had a craigslister that asked me "how much cash to take it home? I have $100 bills" I told him to shoot me a reasonable offer around $8k, but that I would meet him at my credit union for that much cash so they can look at the bills. Haven't heard back from him. He could just be busy or I could have avoided counterfeit money. Who knows.

There's reports of some awesome counterfeit $100's floating around. Color is right , size and feel correct, even has the anti counterfeit strips. Perfect except for the Chinese language printed on it too instead of engrish
