RX8 STX tire size.

I'm still trying to decide what path to go with on the RX8. Does anyone know what size tire most people are using on RX8's in STX?
It looks like it would be between a 255/40/17 or 265/35/18. The 17's are cheaper and about 6lbs less per wheel/tire. They are also about a 1/4" smaller in diameter. The 18's put almost another inch of rubber on the ground though. Thoughts?

255/40/17, but you can do 17s in Street. You won't get hardly anymore power out of the car going to STX, which was it's biggest problem. If you haven't replaced the ignition system with the black halo racing stuff, do that. A front bar, shocks, good alignment and I don't think you'd consider STX. Sure it's better, but the RX8 is so good stock that I don't think it's that much better.
Of course it can (maybe) be more competitive there on some courses, but on the whole, twins are the ticket in STX. However, there is some discussion on moving it to DS. Not sure that will happen though. Lord help us if RX8's become one of the top dogs. Good ones are hard to find.
