Today
Re: Today
Here's me vs. Dave. I stepped away entering the first slalom, but Dave caught back up through the middle.... until entering the next slalom.

My best two runs from the weekend, Bristol and zMax. You can kinda see/hear where the car lost power at the first right hander on my Bristol run... not sure if it was fuel starvation or not, not gonna run it down that low on fuel again tho.

Marcus' run from Bristol
That video helped me a good bit. My best was a 56 and after watching how close Pro class was getting to the cones on a few corner exits, I am pretty sure I left a good second or more out there simply due to exiting wide in a couple spots...

Re: Today
I didn't personally see the DNFs except for the one where I rode with someone that DNF'd 3 in a row. That one was a miss on the offsets after the pinch at the end of the back sweeper. I think most of them were in that general area. The pointers were there but I think walls might have been more effective without changing any of the key cones.thrdeye wrote: ↑Mon Sep 24, 2018 1:28 pmSteve mentioned the slalom to me....I figured novice course walk would take care of that.MARKP wrote: ↑Mon Sep 24, 2018 12:36 pm I thought the course drove better than it walked. There are a couple of things I would have changed that I think would have helped the number of DNFs we got. The visuals were tricky at times. I didn't have any issues because I knew where to look but I can see where others with less experience would have problems
Where were most of the happening?
Especially with new drivers, they might get something in the walk-through but that all goes out the window when it comes to drive time. IMO, if our more experienced drivers raise a visual issue during the walk-throughs, the new drivers are likely to have issues there and we should probably see if we can improve it.
I'm sure you know this but none of this is intended to be finger pointing, just some constructive criticism for us all to learn from. I appreciate the effort to put the course together and I did enjoy 99% of it. Again, thanks for the different perspective.

Re: Today
I noticed in Chris's MIL video he was NOT looking where the car was pointed. I did not drive the course but state that as evidence of needing to look farther ahead than the front bumper of the car.
sorry I missed the event.

Yep sure thing. I always like trying to find different ways to use the same pavement.

For the most part, if you aren't clipping some of the key cones every now and then, you are giving up chunks of time or you are winning national championships.JOHN226 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 24, 2018 5:59 pmke0ki2k wrote: ↑Mon Sep 24, 2018 10:00 am https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5AI0JcZ7n8

My 3rd run. 54.454

I feel like I gave up a little time early in the run, , but everything else felt really good. I didn't notice it while driving, but I can hear my front end pop coming back in the video. Had lots of fun this season. Have a couple things I want to do to the car over the winter. I don't know how much off a difference they will make, but hopefully I can come out stronger next year.

That is the issue, little cars shouldn't be that close on raw times to power cars that are prepped, that is what pax is for!

E92 M3 is 16 inches shorter than the gt500 and 7 inches narrower than the gt500, so I would say a smedgum size vehicle. I measured the gt500 last night and went off of the specs on the interwebz on the E92 M3.. and we all know the interwebz doesn't lie. lol
