OK so the every run counts thing is cool, but its going to be hard to get used to.

We've done it with autocross before and it was almost universally despised. I completely understand why they do it for RallyX though. Autocross doesn't have the problem of the course evolving as the day goes on.

I love rally cross scoring for auto cross as it makes you be more consistent and not just be able to throw down one flyer of a lap if you can get it done in one. That's just my opinion tho

To me, it seemed those that run spin it or win it hail Mary runs hated accumulated times. Folks that are more consistent liked it.

I can do consistent times if I'm in a familiar, comfortable car. I just don't enjoy it.

I also like Rallycross timing in Autocross. I was surprised when everyone hated on it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm not a fan of RallyX timing in Autocross. It makes perfect sense for RallyX.

I'm not a fan of it, but mostly because you can't tell where you stand until everyone has the same number of runs in the book.

Taking risks to go fast is part of motorsports. In our sport, the risk is primarily limited to coning, over-driving, or a DNF, but with rallycross scoring, you're not necessarily going to take that risk and go out there and see if you can make something stick if you're down by .500.

I think it would make things more interesting in rain or changing conditions.

..but for a dry weather event, it just makes things less interesting. If someone good jumps out on your after a run or 2, you basically have to hope they mess up.

There was some alien driver at Solo Nationals who was leading FSP after the first day and his fastest time was with a 2 second cone penalty.

I get it, it does sound better to say I'm off the pace by .5 second compared to, I'm off the pace by 3 seconds or lord forbid 12 seconds because alien stayed off the cones that day/weekend. It's all a matter of perspective. Autocross timing is like qualifying for Pole position. RallyX timing is like stage rally or road racing where you have to have consistently quick times to make it to the checker flag first. I don't think anyone in rallyX, rally, or road racing are out for a timid weekend drive.

I love it.
and if anyone thinks an event with that scoring is won by cruzing round staying off cones.. your wrong. Every event that Iv won with that format..every run was balls out.
But, Im a consistant type driver.. I never knock off huge amounts of time in 3 or 8 runs.. Im 97% of my ability on run 1. That helps with Rally Scoring.

When we did the southeast divisional series and went to Atlanta for the final event and John and I were in the hunt for the win, it came down to every run being basically right there together and we had to add the times up several times to be sure who won and after something like 16 runs each John won by .002 and that's why I like it. All those runs and the winner wins by the slightest margin.
