Go buy a big TV and keep the box. Working on gravel sucks. At least move to the grass and put some scrap wood under the jack/stands. Cardboard still applies for wetness reasons.

A closed cell foam pad is better than cardboard and even helps a lot on pavement. I have a small one that was schwag for working a club race and my knees are very grateful.
