Overnight at Bristol

Post by Boyd »

Hey everyone.

I ran with y'all at one of the AX events last year (Smokies) with my gray Cobra. Had a great time, and am looking to do much more this year with a different car.

Planning on trailering up to Bristol on 3/5 & 3/6, and was wondering about accomodations for the overnight. Do most folks stay at a certain hotel? What about security for the cars and trailers? Reload Saturday evening and drag em to the hotel with ya? I know there's a lot of camping around there, but I'm really not setup for that except just a tent and sleeping bag.

Any advise or suggestions on how folks manage the overnight would be appreciated.

See ya there.

The lot gets locked at night, so you car/rig would be safe. I prefer to stay at the Econolodge on the VA side. It's not far from the site and we get an SCCA discount. It's usually $60-70 a night after tax. And i think they're dog friendly

Thanks. That sounds like the deal so far.

I will always be on site with my camper and will watch over everyone's stuff and yes the gate does get locked so no worries on anything being bothered.... JY

Several of us camp there at night. There there is a little near the creek where you can camp with a tent. If rain is in the forecast, don't camp near the creek, or have anything you care about near the creek.

Thanks guys. Feel much better about leaving my car and trailer there.

Might be a little early in the year for tent camping. Long as my stuff is secure, I'll head for the hotel. 😁

When folks tell you don't camp near the creek when it rains, we really mean it.
