With 9 events listed, how many to qualify for season points champion? 4? 5? Pick best of how many? Any chance the #9 will be a double points event to make it 10 for the season?

You would need to count the best five minimum so someone who wins their class in five events always wins the class championship. But you could always have more. Not that it's likely to make a difference to me, but I think a double points event is a really bad idea.

I am looking for other level events, we facilitate, tried msr and the schedule tab here.

Double points skews the value of all events and doesn't seem to add much value. If you have a scheduling conflict and miss the double points event then you are at a default disadvantage for season points. Am I missing some value add from doing that?
9 events with top 5 counting seems to work out mathematically.

The double points event has been done by various regions and types of events in the history of the SCCA. As "The Championship Event!!!" Usually because the points series are somewhat locked up and entries fall off. 2 times the points for the price of one event can sometimes get folks to come out if they are trying to chase one of the most expensive jackets you will ever get.
I also agree 9 events with top 5 counting works.

Thats true, it could bump participation later in the year for competitive folks. I'm just not a fan of being potentially forced to come to a specific event that may or may not work with my schedule.
