Guess getting shown up by Raikkonen for two seasons has finally caused JPM to seek greener pastures...volvosrule wrote:Gannasi just made the announcement that Juan Montoya is going to run in Cup next year!! Take that all you haters out there. Man what is going on at Maclaren!!!
Re: Montoya to NASCAR!!!!!
Another way to say it, he's just following the "green." Nextel Cup is where the money's at, and I'm sure it's easier than his other job. All those stock cars get about the same marketing coverage on that big ole oval.....first place, last place....who can tell the difference, when the whole shebang is only a half mile long?01badz28 wrote:volvosrule wrote:Guess getting shown up by Raikkonen for two seasons has finally caused JPM to seek greener pastures...
Re: Montoya to NASCAR!!!!!
I don't know about that... I mean, F1 is an international series, and I think MS is still the highest paid athlete. I bet he still signed a nice deal with Ganassi (sp?) but there is still plenty of cash in F1.Tyler H wrote:01badz28 wrote:Another way to say it, he's just following the "green." It seemed like from his press interview this morning that he had just gotten burned out with F1. Definately wish him the best of luck, but it won't be enough to get me to watch the oval boys - time to find a new driver to root for.
While we are talkin about money in F1 i found this on a forum about F1. Its the money spent by F1 companies in 2003. There is also a link...

Yeah, he'll probably make less in CRAPCAR.
I'd get burned out too if I got embarassed by my teammate every race after I talked smack to every single driver in the seriers. It'll probably be more fun for him too since he'll be a media child in NASCAR and if he ever gets behind in NASCAR like he did in F1, they'll just some some mysterious debris on the track and toss up the 48th yellow of the day so he can get back on the lead lap. They also need him because he's an asshole and likes to pick fights. We all know that NASCAR is Days of Our Lives played up by the media and 38 hours of pre-race coverage so he'll scrap a little and NASCAR will laugh all the way to the bank.

I wonder if that started all of this. He said he called Chip 2 weeks ago.01badz28 wrote:The turn 1 accident at last weeks USGP makes more sense now - Montoya was just practicing bump drafting with Kimi!

I wouldn't be surprised, and the USGP was two weeks ago. He has also had a couple of public run ins with DC.volvosrule wrote:I wonder if that started all of this.
