Sunday Auto-X Many Thanks

Post by leegrx7 »

Many thanks to all those who participated in Sundays Auto-X at Anderson County HS.---- :D

A special thanks to those (many) who came early and stayed late to help with all of the many tasks and specialities that it takes for a successful Auto-X---It was a real pleasure to see people pitch in and take care of everything to get things going and keep things running smoothly. It has been a long time since I chaired an Auto-X (maybe 15-18 yrs) and the willing help that was available on Sunday was absolutely wonderful. :D :D

The Student run consession was a great success, and a special thanks to those who donated above the cost of of their drinks and brownies to help out the Junior class fund. :D :D :D

Thanks again,

being a Clinton Dragon alum, it kinda hurt me to donate to ACHS :P .....

but i was real happy with the event and how things went. Considering the lot size, i think ETR did a great job.

Wish I coulda made it. Ruined a cv joint by neglecting some work on the car. Didn't want to do any more damage. Should be ready for the next event though.

Lee, I meant to tell you that I thought the course worked out great for what you had to work with. It seemed to flow well and was quite challenging on the looking ahead part.

Thanks Mark-----I too was surprised as to how well the course seemed to flow----when I first arrived early Sunday morning and saw our already small lot reduced even further by the parked cars I was very concerned that we would have a too-tight squirrley-Q---but all you guys that helped with the course design sure made the best of an admittedly small lot---several people commented that the roomy "grid" lot coupled with the long motor around the front side of the school for the return seemed to make the time between runs fairly (very) short, especilly for the two driver cars. I'm sure a lot of that was our timing crew and start line workers that kept a good pace on successive cars ---minimizing time between the end of one run and the start of another.

Thanks a lot for the event everybody. I was pretty impressed with the coourse considering the size of the lot and then cars being parked in it. Too bad they didnt come and pick them up while we were racing. Seeing there faces and us autoxing around their cars would have been pretty funny.

Lee - Thanks for this event. I also thought the course flowed well. I was a little concerned during the walk throughs about getting my barge around the course, but I really didn't have any trouble at all. It worked out very well given the small lot.

i graduated in 1997. hard to believe it was that long ago. i still feel like a kid, who just happens to work full-time. i guess being single and having no real responsibilities to take care of will do that to ya
