I had seen that last year and was blown away. Really an incredible show. It was originally billed as the "Formula 1 of the skies" but that's autocross for sure.

Except hitting a pylon carries a bigger penalty (+10 seconds).

My uncle, a physicist who liked to make things go fast, engineered a plane that won Reno one year. He later worked with Junior Johnson on his engine program, back in the 60's and 70's.
