Stone Memorial HS pics
I dont know if this is worth pursuing or not, but I figured I would post some pics that I took of the place a few days ago. Its got a few light poles in the center but looks like you could get a decent course out of it.
I was in a Ford Escape and I was able to get to 50 mph going in a straight line using about 3/4 of the long ways pavement. So here are some pics of it...

Tony, that is the football stadium side parking lot there... they have another big parking lot on the other side of the school but it should work just fine for that. Theres parking spaces just outside of those pics where you could park to line up to make your runs as well.
It seems like it could work, if they would allow us to be there.

Theres really no houses that are close to this location. The only thing remotely close to it is a branch campus of Roane St. CC.
The school is I believe about 2 years old, maybe 2 1/2. The pavement looked to be in good shape. I don't know what the next step is in getting this location, but I think this might be a chance to extend our boundaries and maybe get some more local people from this area interested in autoX.

Can you get us the name of the facilities manager or school principal? I would assume that it is a Cumberland Co Board of Education school. Do you have any contacts or friends within the system?

Ilive in Crossvegas the school is new and im sure getting the auto x here wold definaly get peoples attention here. I thing it would make a huge it for alot of people. there is alot of racing action around here with dirt trackin dragstip and even a mud buggy dragstrip. I think if u done some good advertizing u could get alot of new guys in just as long as u get the details and rules to them them with ease.

I would love to do something in Crossville too since its my hometown. But noone was really interested in that lot. Would love to run in front of family and friends in that area. Its a big town for drag racing, but if autox ever got exposed there, it could take off.CrashAction55 wrote:Ilive in Crossvegas the school is new and im sure getting the auto x here wold definaly get peoples attention here.
