I wonder what that 100+ jungle juice would do to my car? In moderation of course.

if its leaded it'll fry the O2 sensors in your cats/headers/whatever you turbo guys have. I dont think just running some will do much though, youve gotta run more boost and probably play with timing/ignition to take advantage.

I thought there was some that was unleaded? Back in the 90's at the gas station next to the Gallaher View CourtSouth they sold this stuff called Turbo Blue that I used to put in my 240 occasionally. I'm pretty sure it was unleaded. I haven't seen that stuff in years though...or maybe I just haven't noticed.

yeah there are a million and a half different types of race fuel. you can get 100 (and maybe 105 or 108) octane unleaded fuel up at that raceway station Joe mentioned. The engine i'm talking about likes leaded fuel though.

So the only disadvantage of leaded fuel is fouling O2 sensors?

Hmm...my car adjusts it's valve & ignition timing depending on what octane fuel you're running. I guess there's a possibility that I could see a substantial gain running higher octane fuel (with test pipes), especially during the summer.

However, I'm guessing that's not the only drawback.

dunno lol you'd have to look it up. Thats the only one i've heard of, and killing the trees and what not. Iunno if your car adjusts its timing enough to take advantage of a bump of 15 octane, but give it a shot and let me drive :o

I forgot I already asked the padre about that place, my dad goes down there buying late model bits occasionally and said he doesnt think they carry any, the local tracks (or gas stations freqeunted by racers) just have it on pump. But I may give them a shout monday to make sure theyre dry.

I think they still sell Turbo Blue, or equivalent at the Pilot station at the northshore exit off of the Pellissippi. My dad used to get it there for his Pantera when he still had that car.

I believe that Performance Products (near clinton hwy) also at least used to sell the good stuff. I don't know if that's leaded or not.

Why not just get the unleaded stuff and add some lead substitute (available at any auto parts store) to lube up?

didnt know that was even available

really I could just get 108 or 110 or whatever is available in unleaded and run a little more oil in the fuel. Might go check those pumping stations for 110 or something.
