Pics from Oak Ridge Mall 6-27-2004

I took a few pics... only of the third run group. I was playing around with different settings on my camera, so I only posted the shots that came out (some good, some ok).

They're HERE in the gallery.

Its pretty tricky getting good pics of something that's going 40 mph. You'll probably notice that only a few of the pics are really crisp and clear. I'm getting better at it though. The high speed autofocus still isn't quite fast enough. I found that pre-focusing on where the car would be and then taking a pic as the car came by worked best. On several of the shots, you can tell that I used a cone to focus on... so the cone is crisp but the car isn't. I should have used the pavement exactly where the car was going to be, not a cone several feet away. Eh well, I'll try again next time.

I wish I had gotten Stu's whole car in the frame on that one three wheeler pic. He drove a little wider line than I expected :D

I also took pics of Adam's car, Cliffs, and several others... but none of them were worth posting (too out of focus) :(

Nah, stray gamma rays from that radioactive fluffy toy Tyler gave you were probably messing with my camera.

Not to jack a thread, but I didn't want to start a whole new one for this while a relavent one was going. I've posted some in-car footage from Sunday's race for those that need an ego boost. :P It's 11Mb so 56k beware.

Here it is.

Dave,
Enjoyed the photos a lot - nice work! As to the discussion about cars being driven SLOWLY being easier to photograph - all your pics of my car were nice and crisp. I'll try and pick up the pace next time!

Same here. I got a quick vid of my runs. There is also one from the day before at the dragon. About 1-1.5 megs each.

I am open to any constructive remarks? I need some practice with the new suspension bad.
