WTB: Trailer for CRX
Just shopping right now, but does anyone know where I can get a small trailer to haul a CRX or have any idea what one might cost?
Go here:http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/ ... ature=true
and here:http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/D ... mber=42708
You will have to buy wood to do what you want to with it and probably a storage box. I figure you could probably get away with spending about $250 if you do the work yourself.

Yes, as in a 14' long trailer that I could drive the CRX onto such that the two, trailer and car, could be pulled by an F-150 to places like Charlotte. No stereo would suck during a drive to Peru or somewhere moderately far from home, so I'm just thinking ahead for out of town events.
Mark: Were you thinking tire trailer or just being yourself (funny)? It's often hard to tell if you're joking. I probably shouldn't have said "small trailer." Although the CRX is relatively small, and I'd like to get the smallest trailer possible for it.

No, I was being serious. I guess I read your post too quickly. Keep in mind, I used to drive my car to events and even drove it to Topeka the first time I went to nationals. To me, a small trailer is a tire trailer.
A trailer to haul a car on is a "car" trailer.

Oooohhhhh.
Presidence is now set for ETR trailer terminology. "Small" or "Tire" shall be used in reference to trailers towed behind a race car. "Big" or "Car" shall reference those carrying a car pulled behind a truck/SUV.
Sorry for the smart ass comments since you weren't just being funny. I did crack up when I saw the trailers you recommended because I thought you understood my post and were just giving me a hard time .
If you find a car trailer for $250 let me know!
I don't really have a problem driving the car out of town because it sure isn't hurting mechanically. However, Robert only has a guess about how many miles are on the engine, and I'd like to keep wear and tear on it to a minimum. It's just an idea I probably can't afford.

Where's Visschus? He might have one that he would part with for that.firingonfour wrote: If you find a car trailer for $250 let me know!
I paid a little over $1000 for mine many years ago.
You might try talking to Dave Disney. He built his and it would probably be fine for the CRX.

This one looks decent, if you do not mind going to Nueva York to get it.

What year CRX? I have a dandy trailer I use to haul my '87 ITC car with. I just bought a Spec Miata and I'm thinking about getting something bigger. (Although it has made a trip each to VIR, CMP and Barber with the SM on board.)
It's a single axle version of this trailer: http://www.texasbragg.com/product/produ ... um=cch5000
12' deck, slide out ramps, surge brakes, tie-downs, already balanced with wheel stops for the CRX. I paid about $1600 for it last year.
Let me know if you think you might be interested.

I have an enclosed car hauler that is 18 ft. long over all and 16' 6" inside. It has an electric wench and some cabinets. It is a tandem wheel with four wheel electric brakes and four almost new tires. I used it to haul a MG midget. If interested my e-mail is fprod64@peoplepc.com. A F-150 will pull it very well. Asking $2,000
