Idea for unique local event next season.

Post by thrdeye »

With some of the cool events that other regions have, I got to thinking. Why don't we have a "team" event?

Everyone would register for the event, as usual, except this would be pre-registration only. At the end of registration we would have a certain number of teams, based upon how many pro-class drivers registered (1 pro per team). Results would be based on pax. It wouldn't matter if one team had one fewer or one more person that the other teams, since results would be based upon an average. There are lots of methods that we could employ to even out the skill levels on the teams.

Top team gets something cool (to be determined by Solo comittee or etc.) What do you guys think?

No points would be issued for class wins or anything...Just something different for one event next season...and would get everyone to know each other a little better.

In Florida, (Jacksonville, I think) they have an event called Axis vs. Allies. It's based on WWII groupings. Something like that would probably be a lot of fun and it would probably be considerably less compicated. It's PAX based with a few other factors thrown in. I think straight PAX would be fine, though.

confused here.....

So, like your car would be like the Adolf Hitler Mobile since it's from Germany and mine would be some sort of Kamikaze, rising sun-mobile???

 i think it'd be cool if we could get with TR and do some sort of 2 day ETR vs. TR event or something of that nature. 1 day in Nashville, 1 day here.

I see what you mean, but I think I'd rather just run both days in Nashville.

You got it. We would be racing against those little Brit cars and some 'murican iron.

I like the idea mark, it's just that I like mine better. I have a feeling that in our region, the imports out number the domestics by quite a bit.

If you guys think it will be hard to organize my idea, I'd be happy to take care of those duties.

I think that this would be really cool. Great idea Chris. If it was a 2 day event that would take me out. I think it sould definatly be brought up in the meeting.

No, you would be Axis... You have a Japaneese heart.

It sounds like it wouldn't work in our region, though due to the number of Axis cars we have.

This would be a great opportunity to get some sincere tips on your driving (eg: "If you don't start looking ahead I'm going to tear your eyes out and staple them to the steering wheel!" or something...)

PS: this is going to be just like elementary school isn't it? "Will's on your team this time! 'Nuh-uh! We had to get him last time!', etc.
