6? :? Did they make you leave? Heck, with 16 people I would think you could do 6 runs, change the course up, then do 6 more.

ummmmm.. no. my tires were done by 3. fastest part of the course downhill..into a 15 mile an hour tight finish...off camber. there was a 5 thousand dollar black streak leading into the finish.

I was done after 3 or 4 runs. I made myself run more since I already paid. That finish made it miserable.

Ok. Finish was tight, but that streak was 2 grand, tops, (heck, it was just the front right on the miatas!) and the fastest part of the course is where everyone hit the rev limiter in second before the turn into the slalom second time around. :-)

On the flip side, a few people said if you got your braking done before the turn, the finish wasn't a big deal. Challenging, sure, impossible? Only for Terry on the Impala - that was tough! So the next course will be a downhill straight with just a start & finish, just for you Terry!! Lol.

I'm not trying to be critical, but in all seriousness Jonathan, trying to do something tricky or tight at the finish is a key ingredient in bad things happening....I've seen several incidents due to that type of thing. It's also the last thing people have to do on the course, so it sticks with you, and a bad finish can ruin an other wise great course.

A tight-ish sweeping turn into the finish is always a good way to handle needing to slow people down. Do the sweeper, then put the finish lights at the end of a very short straightaway after the turn <50ft. This way drivers can accelerate through the finish.

Thanks for the event. Where were all the porsche's?

I seem to recall a certain non-local event in TN last year that this was in issue... Caused a lot of stress for everyone. Image

I hit the 8K limiter on both downhills.. but there was no sliding on the first downhill run, because it was straight..not off camber, with a downhill 45 degree kink, into a slow gate. I had fun, believe me!! "duH,WINNING" !!

but I bet Terry had a very bad day..he worked that corner and he must have picked up a hundred cones..including all of mine.. (sorry Terry) and then could not navigate thru the gate..at any speed. Neither did the Mustang.. I dont think. I know courses are the same for everybody.. but in the end..total cone count is the one constant denominator that screams... "FUN!" or "meH"

Plus, thats a tuff lot to pull off. But the rest of the course was EXCELLENT !
