ADESSA EVENT

Post by oldmuscle69 »

How long will the Adessa event have online registration? And how many days before,or what is the cut off going to be? I could be away from the PC for a few days before. Thanks Bob.

I plan on setting up registration this weekend, actually through motorsportsreg. Could be as early as Friday night.

I'll post an announcement when it's ready.

There is a UW meeting Thurs morning and some of the final details for the sites will be confirmed. We are still planning on Fri nite registration and tech with limited exceptions for Sat morning. Hopefully there will be more going on than just SCCA and we will get some publicity Friday that will carry over to Saturday spectator attendance.

But if I'm reading Wayne's post correctly, this will be mandatory, right?

I think the purchase of the new laptop may change that, but original thinking was that yes, the friday night checkin would be mandatory. We are trying to avoid a horrendous wait during registration.

I think we can discuss this in the solo forum, but my current opinion is this:

Last year, we had a huge turnout and one laptop for registration. This year, I expect a bit smaller turnout and we have two laptops. Thus, I believe registration will flow very quickly no matter what.

By the way, we need to have an event chairman for the ADESA event by this weekend. Someone needs to step up!

The intent is to handle this in a similar manner to the Dogwood event where the bulk of registration and tech is done on Friday and as a public event ie car show at Wally World or Home Depot in Lenoir City. If you cant make it on Friday, and you notify the registrar, you can register on Saturday morning of the event. We are going to try to make Friday night a special event.

Thanks for the clarification, Wayne.

I like that we're doing the Friday night event, plan to be there, and encourage others (that can) to do the same. I just wanted to make sure we were making provisions for those unable to be there.

Nice +1 on the Friday night "car show" type event...Should we have a small vender area for those who purchase spaces on Saturday?....Just a thought.
