Few more lots around Rogersville and Greeneville areas

Post by Scoob »

First is a big one close to (or inside?) a TVA facility at the Sevier Retention Reservoir, north of 81:

Second is south of 81, probably the parking lot of Five Rivers Electronics:

Can't tell how good or bad the lots are, but I was just wondering if either of these have been pursued before? Looks like there has been some street-tire fun on the TVA lot in the past. :)

I really think the first one is gravel. You usually don't see the 18-wheeler tracks unless that's the case.

We have run at the second one before. It's large, but it will kill a set of tires like no other. You might scoot by there to see if it's been resurfaced, but I doubt it.

Ah, I thought the tire tracks were from kids/drifters having fun. Gravel makes a lot of sense. But maybe worth a drive over there on my way back from the Morristown lot visit. Anyone else closer to Rogersville who knows that area?

Not much chance the 5 Rivers lot is repaved since it's just been sitting vacant for a few years.

I'm pretty sure I have been to the TVA site before. If it is the one I am thinking of, that is a coal-fired plant and you are looking at their ash retention area. Bull Run has a nice one too. Too bad they aren't paved.

Kind of looks like it. That place chewed up a set of 300 tw tires I had on the Camaro at the time. I'd hate to see what it would do to real tires.

I remember the lot was so rough, that it was hard to find a place to safely jack up your car.

I remember having fun at the event, though.
