It's a lot to take in. I expected something after the national convention. It will take a while for me to create my letter, but wow.

No, this isn't *going* to happen. This is out for member comment....it *could* happen Everyone should write a letter to the SEB with their thoughts.
It looks like a lot, but for me (already having a "stock" prepped car) my only addition would be camber plates. And fooling with bars, maybe. I'd keep the 17x8 wheelsize, as I would expect most people with 16s and 17's will.
The biggest thing I like about this is that with some simple allowances, it seems that a lot more cars could be able to mix it up in the category.

Yeah, there's been squawking about this for a while now.
It's basically "under consideration". I can see some FORM of those changes making in, but not everything.
I think the wheel allowance makes sense to a point. When I had my Slobalt SS, the stock wheel was 7" wide and an odd bolt pattern. It was nearly impossible for me to find wheels to use for events other than OEM sets....

To phase out the 140s over time. Tire manufacturers that have consulted with scca claim that it is easier to make a 140 ringer tire than it is to do so at 200

I hate to lose the RS3s. They're a great (real) summer street tire.

Re: April Fastrack
Hankook will fix it before 2015. I have heard that the 140 on the kook is not the right TW....more like a 180.

Re: April Fastrack
I can live with the street tire thing, but I despise the idea of camber plates and stock springs.
More relevant to me, this would make for a lot of (inadvertent?) ST takebacks.

I don't know a lot about all suspension types but I think the goal (if you're going to allow adjustability) should be to allow all types to get into the same realm of adjustment.
What's the problem with camber plates? They are pretty easy.
I don't think two bars is really necessary and I think that allowing those may take things to the point where someone with the will and the means could do some crazy stuff.
The ecu stuff...again I don't know enough right now to make an opinion but I think that cars over the next few years will probably have all sorts of nannies that would prevent them from being fun cars. I think that those situations should maybe be dealt with case by case basis though. I mean when it comes to electronics there are all sorts of things that I could envision being exploited. Like what if a car used some sort of electronic throttle modulation to handle traction control. I could see that really being exploited.

Nah I don't think that's it based on what I've heard from the SEB and howard.
Tiremakers have a lot of time to adapt for this anyway.

The other thing that really bothers me is why no camber adjustment for A-arm cars?

Re: April Fastrack
I like the camber adjustment. Would be nice if they allowed one type of camber adjustment such as bolts, plates, etc. It would have made it a lot easier on the STi. Will be great for the Type R. I think this could bring a lot more cars into the mix. May end up phasing them back out after everything is figured out and everyone has "the car" for each class. But, it's making it easier for some odd cars to get a chance. (All of these possible rules would be nice for the regular Stock classes too...still on Hoosiers).
