Any Interest in a TGPR track day Aug 3rd? ** Updated **
We are confirmed to have the track on August 3rd, 2013. Here is the link to the track website for additional information http://www.tgprace.com/
Everyone needs to be at the track by 7:30am CENTRAL TIME, this is when the drivers meeting starts. We will all then take a few parade laps to get comfortable with the lines, passing and pit locations.
There are hotels close, but it is not a terrible drive from Knoxville if you want to drive down on Saturday morning. Maybe for the people that are driving down Friday night there could be a meeting spot for an adult beverage .
BRAKE PADS! Please make sure you have new pads (front and rear) OR bring a back-up set along with the tools to be able to change on site.
Also make sure you have a full tank of gas as it slows things down to have to leave to get gas.
I have made an attempt at putting together the run groups below... it is mostly just guessing, please let me know if something does not make sense OR you want to run in a specific group. Please keep in mind that generally after lunch there will be open spots for swapping groups or just extra track time.
-> New
You can bring as many people to the event as you want, although children need to be supervised closely as there are cars moving around . You can share the spot meaning someone else can drive in your car, in a session. You can also have a passenger in the car, but everyone must have a helmet and there are no loaners available at the site.
If anyone wants to join me driving down Saturday morning, lets meet up at McDonalds on Cedar Bluff at 4am. Be there right at 4am so that we can promptly leave.
Also, I will staying at the following hotel. I have stayed there before and like it.

No roll-bar required for convertibles, right?

Track day with ETR for $100...I'd love to! How does that work for co-drivers, different groups I guess?

Sure, these are always pretty fun. I'd be in for one as long as I'm in town for whichever weekend folks decide on.
Marcus, I'm reasonably certain that's correct.
Co drivers, as far as how it's been done in the past, can usually either split a spot and drive alternate sessions (each would only get half the number of sessions as normal) or both can pay full price and run in different groups.

I'm potentially interested, depending upon cost and date.

Next open Saturday I can do is Aug 3rd, but there is a Sunday July 21st ... Week days are open just about anytime, but I assume that is not the best for everyone. I will start one of those "list o people" in the original post. Let me know what would be best date, I will contact TGPR this coming week for the details.

You can just take one slot and alternate driving sessions, I have seen people do that in the past. ... Oops, like Richard said above.

I need to get the E30 out there at some point. I would probably be available for a late-summer date. I haven't even started on the car yet

I've done one of the TGPR track days before and they are a blast! I'm out of pocket July 10-21st but other than that count me and Joe jr in.

Would participation in this event require a different SCCA license? And would it require safety equipment beyond what Solo requires?

Re: Any Interest in a TGPR track day soon?
No SCCA license required, it is not a "racing" event, it is more like a crazy fun test n tune. Tons of time on the track and track generally has lots of run off in the grass area if something goes foobar. No additional safety equipment beyond a helmet is required. Here is a link to a video a slight oops when I was there a couple of years ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2c5vHd_gYgdopo wrote:Would participation in this event require a different SCCA license? Would a week day be better? We could do it sooner on a weekday...

I wouldn't be able to do it until August.

This is intriguing to me to take the Geo to. We'll probably have some post-chicago testing to do by that timeframe. Keep me in the loop please

Looking at my Calendar, August 3rd is a NASA event and July 21 is a software push at the office
