One of our SS"R" drivers here locally is going and offered his grand sport up for a co-drive. Just gotta see ow much mine is going to be to get fixed.

I may or may not have tires and might be looking for something to drive! I'll know more next month.

Well... depending on what is REALLY going on internally... no.. not good.

should put a clutch in since there's 102K on the car ( no clue how hold the one in it is ) but the car isn't going into reverse without a fight. I've learned that there's a reverse solenoid on these cars and that could be the initial issue, but with all the grinding going on now I'm worried that reverse is shot now and won't know until the box is opened up.

First estimate for clutch and trans rebuild ( with labor ) is over $4k.

Getting other ones now, including doing all the work myself that I can do and let someone do the tranny work.

Well, I don't want to be stranded when it does...lol

Don't think I've not thought about that. I need to get it done before I move down there while I have the $ as well

Still not ruling out driving the Grand sport @ Cecil, but all depends on how this plays out.

Have you talked to Danny Popp? He might know where there is one laying around.

Getting into reverse issue ? fluid level? Clutch travel check? No forward gear issues? Did a down shift from hi gear to fourth or fifth not go good?

Mark, I just got Danny's # from a guy I race with. I plan on calling today. I really hate to put another box in it thogh

No, no issues in other gears. I've had comments about the reverse solenoid being bad as a possible culprit and then have to see what else has gone awry.

I don't see any "2014 Solo Sponsors" under the contingencies page with SCCA. Needing to register Hankook and Toyo for this year, have they just not updated it yet?

boy, I wish I had a "Street" car... that's some weak classes if I ever seen em... all those classes.. and maybe 2 contenders for fast runs ..

and no.. Im not against the theory. its just not fun on paper I don't guess... to a lot of drivers.
