11 or wider isn't true especially on the rear, I have ran 10.5 and 11 and 11.5 and 12 and wider isn't better in the case of my mustang and that is with 315's and 335's I have ran all size wheels till I hit the best set up on my car.

Could you tell a noticeable difference between the 315 on a 10.5 and 11?

nope 10.5 or 11 inch made no difference, you can stretch them to wide and the 315's become less responsive. On 315 I would not go over 11 inch wide rim.

I like how the street-class thread turned into a SP discussion.

That being said the grocery getter is going to STM next season due to build plans for the motor.

And so much hate on the SUV!!!! I mean just because I can fit a spare set of tires, all my tools, 3 friends, and drive it to the events isn't any reason to be jealous...it's still a SUV.

As if I didn't have enough motivation already to go to ESP, the clutches on my TractionLok LSD are worn out. I had big wheel spin Saturday on my third and fourth runs at zMax on a couple of the right hand turns. I see a Torsen T2R in my future.

Watch the speed and rpm's at 0:08 to 0:12. The GPS speed was 40 mph. The wheel speed reached 58 mph, which means the spinning wheel was going faster than that. That was an 81.85 second run not counting the cone I hit. Counting the cone, it was still my best run, barely. I was 64 out of 143 on PAX.

There was stiff competition in Pro Class. Jadrice Touissant ran a 70.605 in his ESP Boss 302. That was fast enough to beat Daniel Wendel on PAX. Daniel's best raw time was 62.894. The course was 0.95 miles long so Daniel was averaging over 54 mph.

Apparently the newer Mustangs have a little more durable clutch packs than the SN95/New Edge cars. When I was running my '04 GT in R-comps, I would lose several ft-lbs of breakaway torque per run. I could repack it to around 140 ft-lbs, but it would be back down to 40 ft-lbs or so after a few events. When the Mach 1 was top dog in FS nationally, people were rebuilding their diff before nats, then again between the Pro Finale and the National Championship.

That experience is a large part of why I got into open diff FWD's.

I put in the carbon clutch pack, which seemed to last a little longer than the original. Here's the plot of wheel speed and GPS speed:
