LOL. Small. Mustang probably outweighs the Forester.

Mild ESP prep would be super fun, but it is a tough spot for finding meaningful competition locally.

Well, it's not as if I've had much competition in FS locally. This is the first year I've had to score points in seven events to win the class championship. Besides, according to JY, there will be competition. But it's the 'super fun' part that I'm anticipating. What I'm not looking forward to is dealing with a trailer and changing tires at the event.steverife wrote:Mild ESP prep would be super fun, but it is a tough spot for finding meaningful competition locally.

You sure that is a good idea? 315's are much better suited to an 11 inch wheel... I don't know *SP rules, are you wheel width limited?dewittpayne wrote:wheels will be the Enkei PF01 18x10.5 that he sells and I'll put 315/30 Hoosier A6's on them.
Also, why piggie PF01's when there are much better performance choices? (You did say this was an extra set, right?) Thinking out loud, RPF1 or TC105N are both much lighter than the PF01, hell even the NT03+M is a few pounds lighter per wheel.

No, wheels are free as long as they fit the wheel wells. The other models might be lighter, but they aren't, as far as I can tell in a quick search, available with the right bolt pattern and offset. This kit comes with 4 Enkei Racing PF01 wheels, sized 18x10.5" and a pair of H&R 5mm wheel spacers which allow you to fit your S197 Mustang with the same size wheels and tires all around. I'm running this setup on my own car with 315/30-18 Hoosier A6 tires on conventional strut in front.
I've had good luck so far following Sam's recommendations.

Re: Street class moves for 2015
What's the mustang's bolt pattern? Usually once you get > 10", most wheels are 5x114.3, unless you get a bunch of 5x100 guys to commission a custom run... I had to swap my STi to 5x114.3 in order to have access to lightweight, wide wheels.
My 305 v710's were bulging on the 10.5's, and I thought I read somewhere that a stack of 295 A6's were taller than a stack of 305 v710s... so... I would love to see a picture of 315 A6's on a 10.5 wheel!

Sam has been very instrumental in setting up my car as well. He knows his mustangs, vettes, camaros better than most. I made small adjustments to fit my driving style, but in regards to 315's fitting a 10.5 inch wheel or 11 inch wheel I don't think it will matter as I run a 335 on 11 inch wheels in front and back.

Hmm, I thought it was going to be practically required to switch to an 11 when I go to 315's next year... maybe I need to do more research. I swear most of the subie guys on 315's switched to 11 inch wheels... Maybe my memory is bad or they had other reasons

see, that looks like a ton of overhang to me, but I guess I don't know how the A6's respond to having the sidewall out there like that. maybe it works fine. I wonder if we have anyone here that has driven both setups?

On weight for the different models, are you sure you're comparing apples to apples? Comparing at Tirerack, an NT03-M 18x9.5 (the widest listed for a Mustang) weighs 19.2lbs. The 18x9 PF01 weighs 19.25 lbs. The 19x10.5 PF01 weighs 21.8 lbs, but it's a bigger wheel.

I was talking in 18x10.5 only, since that is the size you mentioned. What bolt pattern is the mustang?dewittpayne wrote:On weight for the different models, are you sure you're comparing apples to apples? From lightest to 'heaviest' in 18x10.5 (5x114.3):
WedsSport TC105N
Enkei RPF1
Enkei NT03+M
Enkei PF01

Re: Street class moves for 2015
Even in stock classes, most people cram the largest A6/A7 that will fit. With a smaller sidewall that's possible with a different wheel size, I'd see no reason why that wouldn't hold true in SP. The only downside is that you may have a tough time getting the rears warm in cool conditions.visibiliti wrote:Hmm, I thought it was going to be practically required to switch to an 11 when I go to 315's next year... maybe I need to do more research. Ok, I'll admit I was wrong. I must have been remembering something totally different. Those vette guys confirm just fine results with the 315 on 10.5. Maybe I can keep my wheels after all! woo

A 10.5" would be fine, an 11" or even wider would be better.
