Seats

Since I'm converting my Mustang to ESP, I can get rid of the not very supportive, but reasonably comfortable stock seats. I still want to use the car for daily driving and won't be towing it to events, so I still need some comfort. A quick search made it look like Corbeau is my only choice at a reasonable price. The factory Recaro's are more than twice the cost of a pair of Corbeau's. The model LG1 wide would seem like the best choice for a relatively large person like me. I don't think I want a fixed back seat. I still need to get stuff in and out of the back seat.

Suggestions?

I have Corbeau A4 seats. I'm not a particularly slim person, and they fit me very nicely. They are well-made, comfortable and have excellent lateral support.

Get a fixed back for the driver side only. I happen to have a pretty nice one.

What model? Also, I'm 6'4" and weigh ~240lbs, so the standard size probably won't fit.

If he doesn't take you up on the Sparco, could I be next in line to check it out? I'm looking for something in pretty bad shape.

Looking at the dimensions, I think it's going to be too small, but I'd be interested in seeing it. I'm not going to be at Adesa, but I will be at Pellissippi October 12.

If I were dabbling in ESP in a daily driver, I'd probably leave the seats stock.

I would if I liked the stock seats. I don't. And they weigh a ton, what with all the motors in the base. I may end up keeping them, but I'd like to explore alternatives.

I would recommend a larger sparco or the status ring gtx... that being said, those are both at least double ($) what a corbeau runs. I don't know of other companies with a good product that compete at corbeau's price point.

If I did get a seat, I wouldn't cheap out. I really like Sparco.

I have fixed back corbeau's and love them, now if they made a reclinable seat at the same weight or close I would get that one.

Do you have the sliders for the seat too? Sparco seats appear to be like an a la carte menu. You buy the seat, but then you have to buy the mounting bracket and sliders separately.

No sliders. The ones they sell aren't that great, IMO. I had a custom fixed bracket.
