Looking for a Chief of Registration
Looking for a Chief of Registration
Yep, this means you... You have been looking for ways to give back to the club and get more involved. Here's your chance!
I know it is late in the year but we need to get someone who can get a group of people together and train them to do registration. As the chief, you don't have to be THE ONE doing registration, you just need to be sure you have a crew of people that will handle registration. Obviously, we can't have an event if we can't get people registered so this is a very important job.
Here's an idea of what we need from you:
- learn the software and put in a process for registration
- get a group of people and train them to do the job
- look for ways to improve the registration process
- if you can't be at the event, you need to communicate with your crew and the event chairman on who will be responsible for making sure things get done at the event.
If this is something that interests you, please post up. Please feel free to ask questions. Chris Harp can probably help you get up to speed. Paul McFall can probably give you some tips on organization since he has done a great job of getting things done with tech. We need your help but we are also happy to help you get up to speed.
Thanks in advance!

Bump. Not everyone at once, now.
The primary perk of this job is that your work is done before you run and you get to work out of the weather.

I'm not necessarily interested in being Chief, but is there a way I can become more familiar with Axware? Is it all license-based, ie. have to use one of the ETR computers? That program seems to be the major hurdle for doing this job (and others).

Re: Looking for a Chief of Registration
Registration is way easy compared to timing. I can train the new chief on the basics in about 30 minutes. I would like to get someone trained up that can handle motorsportsreg as well. Again, it's not hard, but it does take some planning and preparation and you will be doing some part of this work away from the event.
You can download a demo of axware on their site, I think. Also, if you're serious about this, I wouldn't have a problem letting you borrow one of the machines to play on.
The perfect candidate would also be interested in learning a thing or two about car classes and the rules so that new folks get classed correctly. But, this isn't a requirement.
