Huntsville - Milton Frank - Dec 14

Post by thrdeye »

Great site. I think it's the best in the southeast, honestly.

Weather pending, I might make the trip. The fella that ran in CS in the 370 Z at our last event said it's been repaved and they're going to build a course ALL THE WAY AROUND the stadium.

If it's above 50 deg projected, I'm probably in.

I think it is way better than ZMax, but I don't love ZMax.

zMax is great if you have R-comps. It's about average on street tires. Which means if you're running a street tired car, you're not going to PAX very well. I like it because the courses tend to be fast and open, and I need seat time on that sort of course.

They are pretty good for street tires also, just ask JB. That is where he won the first evo shoot out, now the second day it was raining but it is a great site IMO.

consistency and luck came into play that event.. but as a whole,I think its the type of courses there that keep a street tired car down there... they are ALWAYS HP courses.. Folks win there or finish up in the pack that don't do shit anywhere else. JT excluded.

I was there for the last event there earlier this year. Part of the course went onto the slick newly paved area...once it got wet, speeds were literally ~10MPH through that part. Nearly everyone had a spin through that stuff. I'm guessing it's all paved that way now. With lightpoles.

Hopefully it's weathered in a little and way less slick.

Not sure why JT is excluded but this does sound fun. What is the drive time from K ville to event site?

Yep, go to motorsport reg and type in milton franks and hit search and it will bring you to the page where you register and payment is not due till you get to the site. Right now the weather looks like a high of 61 with no chance of rain.
