Can't wait for next year with the changes it looks like ESP will be allowed, looking forward to the Milton Franks event to see how they work, if the weather is good.

Street PAX is still too high but moving in the right direction, not that I care any more. Being able to use adjustable rear lower control arms and change mounting points in Street Prepared should help. But it won't help as much if you still have the rubber bushing on the diff for the third link.

As I said, it's moving in the right direction. But it's still not as low as the 2014 Pro Solo Index of 0.822. I'll be curious to see which way that moves for 2015.

I can't see where the pax for the pros needs to be changed as street tires won 5 out of 10 and hooiers won 5 out of 10, split right down the middle which is where it should be to be fair to both.

Pro Solo index is different and set by Howard. It also only applies to certain classes.

I dunno, it looks like there's an index value for every solo class here:

http://home.comcast.net/~paxrtp/pro2014.html

There are single class groups in Pro Solo and index groups like SR for Street class RWD. But in the shootout, the individual class indices are used to calculate dial in times for cars in different classes.

As I have stated before, the Ruth RTP is, in my opinion, biased against all street tire classes, Street and Street Touring. It's getting better for Street vs Street Touring in 2015, but it's still not there. That was one of the factors in my decision to run ESP in 2015, but not the only one. The fact that ETR Pro class worked out to be even between an ESP car and an STR car this year is not probative evidence that it isn't biased. The numbers are too small for statistical purposes. What it really shows is how good a driver JB is.

If we're going to use anecdotal evidence but with larger numbers, look at how street tired cars did at the Nationals in Lincoln this year compared to R-comps. At zMax, for another example, it's highly unlikely that even a driver as good as JB would ever win Pro in an STR car against a well driven R-comp tired car using the Ruth Index. I wonder if I saved my National results spread sheet. f I did, I could recalculate the PAX results based on the 2015 indices.

I was at nationals and didn't see a single r comp tire in the same class as street tires. DeWitt you are forgetting that at nationals you only run against cars in your class and not other classes. Yeah if you pax that the r comps did better, but at the pros where in the super challenge you run against other class cars in other classes the pax is adjusted and your dial in is set by the class winner. As in sts, the pax goes from .829 to .811 at pros and like my earlier post stated in 10 pro solos this year street tires won 5 and you can't ask for more than that if you are SCCA.
