Post by thewelder »

Does anyone know the schedule and what it takes to run the divisionals. I am going to try to race some this year if I get back from Iraq. :?:

Well first you must be a regional champ and trophy at a national event. Just kidding.
Nothing is required just sign up. Pre-register when it is open. I am sure it will be up when it opens. They are a lot of fun. Great competition and it give you the basic of what a National event feels like. You should look at going to the National events in Atlanta too.

Oh yeah, WRT the requirements, you must be a member of SCCA, nothing else.

Glad to hear you are planning to do the series. I think this is a good way to step up to the next level of competition. I'm hoping to make the Atlanta, Nashville, and Va. Beach events. I would LOVE for the fifth event to be South Carolina.

Yeh! Let's have a Divisional. That would be a great opportunity for our region.

I would like to see that but I do not think it would be able to have one there. Its still too small for that. We would have to use both upper and lower lot and I still don't think it would work.

I agree with Mark M, LMU could be our best site, but is not big enough for a divisional. BTW, the 'black lake' in SC is 980,000 sq. ft. vs. 238,262 sq. ft for LMU.

Yeah but I guarantee there isn't another site that will be hosting a divisional with that kind of pavement, either. Nashville is hosting one. Is Nashville bigger than LMU?

Years ago, Chattanooga hosted one at a High School.
