Championship jackets?

Post by SeanDrives4Fun »

I'm on target for my first championship, and I am wondering. . . If I in deed earn one, can I pay the difference and get a real one like the old guys have vs the modern wind breaker? I plan on auto X the rest of my life and adding at least 2 more before I die and I'd like a great quality jacket to showcase my sport on. Is this reasonable to ask?

I didn't think there was any real difference between them other than the look but I don't have one of the newer ones. :-)

The jacket I received in 2012 was, IMO, a lot nicer than the ones last year. It was a jacket, not a windbreaker.

I agree that the older ones where awesome and I still wear those all of the time ... not so much on the windbreaker style. Not that I have a chance of winning one this year :(.

Let me be clear, I like that we could afford to have lots of class winners last year and any jacket promotes the club and the sport, I just want to pay extra to have a solid foundation that I can add patches or monograms to for the next 30 years as I am able.

When we order jackets they will all be the same style and we ordered different ones the last two years cause most people that had them in the past wanted something lighter.

Im fine with something heavier. Even lined would be good. When the time comes, we normally get a consensus of what folks want.. and then narrow it down to a few different styles..

I know all you older guys want the "Members Only" version...

It's a lot easier to get a jacket when you're the only one in the class with points from six events.
