STM at Bristol Match Tour

Post by Teufelshund »

Will we still be able to run STM at the Match Tour since it's a local class?

Is ETR responsible for tech or will that be folks from the National office?

I think we do everything on the Friday Test & Tune then National takes over. I do know ETR must supply all the workers for Sundays final run offs. It will be an all hands on deck effort.

Workers for the actual event will be pulled from all event participants, just like any other national. Obviously, work positions that happen earlier in the day on friday are best filled by a local that can get to the site, but it doesn't HAVE to be.

Test n tune course is our baby and we as etr have to be there to set it up and set up the course for Brian Harmer to ok before the course can be opened for walking, but we are responsible for the test n tune as this is where we will make most of our money. As Paul stated on Sunday during the shootout etr is also responsible for workers for that last part as well. Any questions please post up or IM me and we will get you a answer. Thanks JY

Do we have a course designer for this event yet?

Suppose to be JB unless he can't be there on Friday or if he has something in mind and draws it up or if some one else wants to do it, keep in mind it has to be approved by Harmer and the safety stew for the event.

The only reason I was asking is that I'm sure we'll have a strong STM presence and I was wondering how that would work if national staff was running tech.

That does present a problem with national staff running tech. Tech will still be done by etr members with a couple scca members that travel to national events as you ask for your work assignment in advanced and then when you get to the site, you get your assignment and I would say Tim White if he comes will be a head of tech or one of the main ones for tech. The issue for a stm car to pass tech like sean's car more than likely will be a issue, even with roll over protection which is why I think we need national clarification on cars we can't agree to 100% on if the car is ok to run or not. Just my opinion though.

I think the specific question on the Match Tour is do we get to run any of our regional classes there? (of course we only have one regional class - STM)

I think the answer may be that the test + tune + regional (Fri + Sat) are regional events, while Sunday is the actual national event?

And therefore Sunday would not or might not include STM?

I'm not familiar enough with National Tour precedents to answer that question.

Yes, it is not a problem to have an STM class.

STM will be allowed at the match tour and Saturday will be for your class winners and etr points. Sunday is to see if you get in the shootout and advance in the shootout rounds.

Which means we need to make a pax for STM. My suggestion would be to use whatever the fastest CAM pax is.
