I have a timing light with an advance dial if that would help.

If you've got a laptop, just ask Cody Yankey to find the setting to lock timing at 10. I'm sure he won't mind, and it'll only take 5 minutes.

You go into the base settings and make the base timing number -10 degress. The "-" makes the ecu ignore the spark map and keep the timing at 10 degrees advance no matter the engine speed or load. You then adjust the cas until your timing light reads 10 degrees on the mark. Go back into the software and remove the "-" and the base timing is set.

BUT. if you have had the tune done professionally and pulled the CAS off the back of the intake cam...you need to put it back exactly where it was when it left the tuner and not worry about the base timing setting.

NOW

Are you sure you don't have one of the cams a tooth off? I have done over 100 Miata timing belt setups and I even get it off every now and then.

We can set it real quick at Bristol if you need to. I'll have my laptop with me so just be sure to have a timing light.

I think it would run really bad if it was off a tooth. I think the 8mm or so that its off from original might be the difference. These things are very sensitive to timing, right?
I mean.. other than I got my ass handed to me and the piss poor 60 ft times... Id not have even noticed it..
