East Tennessee Region SCCA

Our next event is April 24 at Smokies Stadium. The drift guys have an event on the 23rd there. Jeff is planning on going out there on the 23rd and getting the lot cleaned up for our event the next day. For those that don't know, there is typically a lot of debris that needs to be cleared for us to have a good course the next day.

Also, we might have an opportunity to have a booth set up there and talk a little about SCCA events. There are a lot of spectators at these events and possibly some of them would be interested in our programs as well. I have a note in to Louie that does these events and if he says it is ok, it would be a good opportunity for the club.

Anybody interested in helping out, either by working the booth or helping get the lot prepped after the drifters, please post up here.

If I have a room to walk into then I will be there. If not See ya on the next day.

I'd like to go to the drift thing, but I'm not sure where I'll be as getting my car ready to run (or if I'll work that Saturday).

That being said, is there anything that can be done from Smokie's' end about the drifter mess? i know in years past weve had a HUGE amount of shit to clean up after them. I kinda feel like they should be cleaning up after themselves but what ever we need to do to have a good event and no damage to tires or cars.

We discussed it at the meeting last night. The short answer is no.

I think using people who eat lots of beans to clean off CRAP would be...counterproductive.

If we spot any additional crap on course from the BEAN PEOPLE they will be required to ....like our sound policy use a filter

I just talked to Louie. His event got moved to this weekend so we won't have to worry about the lot. We should be good to go on the 24th.

If no one cleans that lot from after the drifters, we will still have to clean it like last year when they were a week ahead of us but nothing else was going on from the time they quit on Saturday till the following sunday 8 days later we still had to clean it.

Damn drifters....

Let's be sure it's clean...Originally we planned on doing this after drifters leave. If they are not going to be there we can do this anytime. What time do we plan on doing this? How many are planning on helping?.....BLOWERS BLOWERS need more then one.
