Great event! To Dave and Brian that was some close racing! Thanks to all the ETR team for all the work you do. Does anyone know who did the photography?

That transition going up from the lower lot is quite the unsettling bump!
Speaking of brakes, this is how my Sunday ended:

That is the bleeder screw on the right side puking out all the brake fluid, while closed.

Should be a cheap fix, as the threads don't look screwed up an the bleeder screw itself is still on one piece.

Sucks on the brake line. If you need to borrow a line bending tool I have one around here somewhere. It works better than a WD40 can... Yes, I have used both. Get the proper tool to bend the lines, trust me.

I altered my line to hit it about 2/3rds the way to the left. No where near the proper line. And my best time was doing all my braking before I hit it so I could turn at the pointer and have a chance of being close to the first cone in the slalom. Can any of the course workers say how far off the ground the kart was? Scott Gibson, please ignore any answers to that question. Also, any cone that has gone under the kart, into the wheels, etc. the darn thing STOPS even when I am foot to the floor downshifting, trying to accelerate off the cone. Sorry folks working the bottom of the hill turn around for taking out the wall on my first run. I hope it was spectacular to watch

From the passenger seat of the rallycross Neon... what bumps??? That thing rides like a Barcalounger while listening to some sweet jazz. Although I do need to figure out what is clunking up in the front. :? Its supposed to have -2 degrees on each side not -1.25 and -2.75. Another close look at the sub-frame bolts is on the list.
Thanks for the offer Ted, I'm just going to buy one though. If a line rusted on my 2001 then my other cars (1972, 1989, and 1994 models) will probably need them soon or at least I'll do it as a preventative measure anyways. That's enough justification to buy a $20 tool right there.

Make sure and go with a DOT 4 or DOT 5 brake fluid as it will be a lot better for autox and has a higher temp rating than factory fluid.

Isn't DOT 5 silicone? That requires a complete clean out of the brake system, not just a flush, because it's not compatible with DOT 3 or 4.

I recommend AP. Highest temp.

I've run the ATE Dot 4 brake fluid for as long as I can remember with the exception of topping it off in case of emergency so no worries there.

If there was just one thing to fix - try to brake earlier. You're trying to stay in the throttle way too long going into corners. It feels good - until you have to turn. That is a very bad habit that can form when driving a turbo car.

Just critiquing your fastest run, you do need to slow down earlier. Is your car an automatic? If not, it sounds like you are running in first gear some of the time. If that is the case, leave it in second. In a manual transmission car, second will feel slower but you are less busy in the car and can concentrate on the line.

We still need to talk at one of these events. If you are going to Bristol, I should be less busy there.

The two biggest things I saw, and that most people had issues with, were setting up for the first 180 and the last two "S" turns. Almost everyone was middle of the road to left on the entrance of the first 180. The best way to do that is to get away from the center cone on entry and get more to the right. It makes your exit easier and lets you get on the gas earlier. The "s" turns were very late apex. A lot of people are early on the apex on the first turn. Hope that helps!
