Anyone see who scraped the Porsche today at Pelli?

Post by Fastech »

Hi guys,

I was at the autocross today in the black 911. At some point, someone scraped my driver side rear 1/4 panel around the wheel well and left a divot in the paint as well as a long (6 inch or so) scratch, both down to the primer and I'm some spots down to bare metal. No note or anything. I was gridded in spot #19, by the karts at the curb, and later parked along the curb to the right of grid as I did my announce stint. Accidents happen, but most in this crowd are quick to own up to them, I'd just really like to know what happened to it. If anyone has any info, post up or feel free to PM me and I'll keep it confidential.

Otherwise, had a great time today, it was fun getting to try out the new car on course and seeing my ETR friends. Congrats to Gebbs for taking the win over me in STM. I love a good fight!

Hope to see many of you at Dixie next weekend!

Thanks. It's not horrible, touch up paint will make it look 90% better I guess, just... :'-(

I really hope whoever is responsible reads this thread and contacts Brian. Like he said, accidents happen and I hope that anyone involved with our group would at least contact him.

We should be able to pull the grid info if it happened in grid................... That sucks, and people who are not honest enough to admit mistakes or blunder suck as well............Any clue as to when it happened whether it was in grid or paddock?

I was working grid while he was running and I walked up to his driver side every run and didn't see anything noticable.
But he was parked along the road that runs to the right of grid after his run group. It was kinda tight where he was parked so it is likely he had it happen there while he was announcing.

I also don't think it happened in the grid. There was nobody on his drivers side there as he was next to curb /grass.

Well there are alot of people who take pictures all over both grid area, and paddock if they are willing to share.

If the Porsche is in the background of enough pictures, you might be able to pinpoint a small window of time that it happened. Not sure what that would do for you, but it's more information.

Also as we all know about the tuner drive byes that is also a poss on the cause no matter where the car was parked.Just saying. They do get into grid and such. Could have been one of them tow hooks they like on the rear.

Eh, it's not gonna show up on pics unless they are close ups. No one was next to me on the driver side in grid except the karts and their kart rack, etc- I suppose it's possible the kart rack could have banged into it, some kids were swinging it around unloaded while making car noises as if they were racing it- or someone could have walked by carrying a tool box or air tank or something and smacked into it. Or maybe someone scraped it while parked later. I dunno, I'm not trying to make a big deal out of it. I'll get my paint guy to touch it up. I was just a bit heartbroken, the paint (for a 10 year old car) was fairly pristine.

Anyway, that's the end of my bitching about it. Sh¡t happens. I was just hoping to hear from someone if anyone knew anything. Thanks again for a great event, Team ETR, I always enjoy your events!
