We made Car & Driver last night!
http://blog.caranddriver.com/lemons-sou ... ore-122505
We had a slight fuse problem this morning but now we are out running well.
Currently we are in 61st out of a field of 112. The car seems to be running well at the moment. We are just hoping the rain breaks up and goes around us or moves through very very quickly.

Re: Wish us luck!
Sadly, this afternoon ended on a very sad note. We lost a fellow racer on track today.
They think he may have had a heart attack or some other medical problem while on course.
One of the teams behind said there was no effort to turn or brake. He went off on one of the last turns before the straight and hit a wall and landed on the roof. They did look over the car very thoroughly after and all of the safety equipment did their jobs.
The wall the car hit moved a very good amount, they have a team working on it, but it is unsure if we will be able to get back out on the track tomorrow.

Prayers for the family, and on a philosophical note, if I had to pick a way to go out (hopefully much later in my life).....

So, does that sanction require medical testing? Just wondering .

I don't believe so. I didn't have to get a physical or anything for either Chump or LeMons.John Brown wrote:So, does that sanction require medical testing? Just wondering .

We got back out on track at 1.
David just earned us the first black flag of the weekend by going 4 off. And now Aaron is getting in to finish us for the checkered flag.
Racing should wrap up at around 530.

Re: Wish us luck!
well, we are 3 for 3 on bringing home a trophy! We are bringing home another Heroic Fix. We also finished 33 our of a field of around 110 cars.
Apparently our awesome lexan hood was against the rules of LeMons.... we found this out while attempting to go through tech inspection. So we had to improvise.
Thankfully The Squirting Coronas had a spare car with a large hood! So we borrowed it! And by borrowed it I mean we chopped some pieces off of it and drilled holes in it. But it worked and the judges loved it enough to give us Heroic Fix.
We did get a few updates about the driver who lost his life on Saturday. He had a massive heart attack while on course, his safety equipment did the job it was supposed to do and was intact after the crash. His name was Sidney Brayton. One of the teams did take up donations for the family and raised a total of $4500 and at the trophies Jay announced that LeMons HQ would match that donation. So thats good. Also all the cars today ran a #22 in his honor.
We also participated in an over 2 liter/under 2 liter challenge to raise money for a charity that does research for children's cancer. There was over $700 raised for them!
Overall it was a good weekend. We'll get some pictures posted to Facebook over the next few days.
