Solostorm

Post by 01badz28 »

I was playing around with Solostorm last night after the event, and noticed they added cloud functionality, along with the ability to set up a "team" to share data. Do we already have an ETR team? Any interest in setting one up to share logs?

Hmm, I might have to try this, but I've got an iPhone and iPads.

What's the best (cost vs performance) Android device to get to run it on?

The cloud stuff is still in Beta, and isn't very user friendly. I tried to setup a "Team ETR" last night and add both Jeff and Brian, but couldn't make it work. The other issue is that currently you can only have three people to a team at the moment, so we can't have a large file sharing group. It looks like they are going to expand this feature, but for a fee.

At any rate, we can share logs right now without having to use the team settings. You can upload your log to the cloud (Click the Log and select the orange cloud icon). Then go back in, click the orange cloud to pull up your log. If you press the share icon, you can select "share with everyone" and it will be visible to anyone.

When you are in the cloud, you can click the menu button and select the drop down box "shared with me" which will let you select all reviewable logs and video. Right now I can see some SSSCC events and some Wilmington logs.

Dave, I'm running it on a Samsung Galaxy S3, using a BT OBDII port, qstarz GPS, and a Go Pro Hero 3 black. Works fine, can overlay data over the video. Even with the smaller screen, its pretty easy to overlay two runs (or more) and figure out where you are loosing time.

Ryan, can you link me to the OBD and the GPS you have?

I have an old S3 and already have a go pro. So the app and those two things and I should be in business.
