I will also add that.. I have never used data to go fast.. I have used it to compare my lines and momentum to my very similar co driver. But to just use it to judge yourself really makes no sense. you have no other base line..except you. and "you" may be the issue.. And I don't mean that in a bad way.. sometimes you have to go back to basics.. and sometimes, the basics is all you need.

I have a Sparco seat for the car. I just haven't put it in yet. There's an air bag in the OEM seat, so I needed to get some things so the system wouldn't throw codes with the new seat. SRS codes can only be cleared by the dealer. I have all the stuff now and I'l probably get around to installing it soon. The stock seat is better than a bench seat, but not by all that much.

any dealer that has a SRS tool can clear them, but if its a hard fault such as up plugged, it comes right back on at key on. Now, you can get a "simulator"... that makes the system think there is an air bag

I have plug that is supposed to have the same resistance as the air bag, which is what the system checks. It's the same model plug that JY uses in his car. There's also a seat track position thing that I'll probably have to take off the OEM seat and plug in. I did buy a manual unheated seat wiring harness so I don't have to strip the harness off the OEM seat. The passenger seat will be a bigger problem when I get around to that. It has an occupant classification system, which is a bladder in the seat that responds to the weight of the passenger. There doesn't seem to be a good way to put that in an aftermarket seat, which means no passenger air bag.

If you got the simulator plug in, that is all you need for every thing. The passenger bladder thingy doesn't matter with the simulator plug in my car and I don't think it is any different in yours, but I may be wrong especially if it was something Ford changed from 2010 to 2011.

This. But easier said than done. Know the key cones, look ahead. It's what the fast folks do.

Since I can't play the course back in my head, I'm going to try bringing my iPad and watching the video instead. The iPhone screen is too small.

A video of the course walk would take too long to watch. It's possible to take still photos and convert them to a video, but I'm not sure how long it takes to do that and the speed ratio would probably still be too slow. If I walked a 60 second course in 15 minutes, at 30 frames/second I would need 1800 stills or 2/second. I think I can only do 1/second. Maybe I could play it back at half speed or use a 15 frames/second video format. Dunno. What I was planning on doing was watching the video of my run immediately after the run using the GoPro app.

I can't find anything in the rules about not being able to watch in car video between runs.

No, as far as I know, that's ok to watch videos between runs.. and almost impossible to patrol others from watching.. lol

that would be a big can of worms!

The Sparco seat is now in the car.

The Brian Peters/John Hogan car that dominated ESP in Lincoln had a 3.55 rear axle ratio. A 3.55 ring and pinion are going in my car as soon as I can arrange it.

I wonder what kind of power that BSP car is making? If your car isn't making as much I would go with the 3:73. 3:55 seems like a lot of time and money for not much gain.

Jon,

Hogan, the car owner, has dyno plots on his instagram page, @swirlhogan, ~420hp at the rear wheels. Headers and CAI should get me in that range by next year. I can hit over 60MPH at Pellissippi now. A rear end ratio as tall as possible was required in FS with the OEM rev limiter, which was much like hitting the brakes and had to be reset by getting completely off the throttle. With any tune, the rev limiter will hold at the set RPM. I can stand that for a second or two at Pelli. It would be too long with a 3.73. Besides, I really don't want to put in a 3.73 now and have to drop back to a 3.55 next year.
